all of the options work on win7/7229/64 bit.

Even through there are 4 weeks until Win7 officially hits the street. No sense cutting to too close.....

Build 7600 has been out for months btw. :)

If you mean the driver with the finger gestures and stuff, i've seen it on an Acer i had in for a Vista reinstall. Yeah it's pretty cool, but actually i forgot to try it out on my HPs. :p

build 7600? What does that have to do with the newest synaptics driver??

I'm talking about synaptics build 13.2.4.12.

Just like XP and Vista, a goodly percentage of the drivers on the gold-release Win7 DVD will be obsolete on Day One. You will ALWAYS have to check the hardware makers sites for the latest.

I was talking about Win7 build 7600 (RTM).

Yeah if i remember that's the driver version on that Acer... But you still didn't confirm that it has the gestures. :p Because if you were simply stating that it now runs well on Win7... I've been running whatever version it was from HP on Win7 with exactly zero issues.

@ blackshard, yes the gestures are supposed to work with all touchpads.

Any link to this new driver?

Also, will multitouch be enabled even on the dv5t synaptic touchpads with this new Windows 7 driver?

I thought it had to have the hardware feature?

I doubt the dv5t supports multigestures like pinch, two-finger scrolling, etc...it does support "chiral scrolling" and "momentum" though through modified drivers. I tired them a few months ago, only to find it not that useful.

I wouldn't mind seeing "pinch" and "zoom" using my fingers on it, but I doubt it's support. Until I see it with my own two eyes at least. Anyone with the link?

Tested, works, but no new functions on my laptops. :( I noticed that the Acer had a v7.2 touchpad, while my DV9700 has a v6.3 and my DV5 has a v6.5. So yeah, the gestures only work with newer version touchpads.

If you want to try the Acer driver regardless, go here, select Notebook, Aspire, 5738G, and scroll down the driver list to Touchpad - Synaptics.
