Why wouldn't it? Linux isn't really bound by hardware.

Linux being open source and all, I bet someone from somewhere has written drivers for everything. Also kinda depends what version you're using.

I have dv2500t laptop and I can install Ubuntu 7.04 with some commands...
need some commands to install but it is fairly easy..

Almost every device for his laptop have linux driver and works automatically when you install ubuntu...
Only webcam and fingerprint device are problematic... there is a solution for webcam but I cant find any driver for fingerprint yet...

Thanks for linking to my guide. The solution is to install a newer kernal (Gutsy Gibbon) into Fiesty. There's a thread on the Ubuntu forums.

The OP wants to rewrite it, and then Gutsy Gibbon should be out in October, which means the kernal will be installed from the start. I'm probably going to wait for that to happen, then give it a go.

I just got the dv2500t and decided to test it out, I ran the Sabayon Linux live CD and it detected everything, well for the most part. Sound, nvidia card, wireless, even compiz was working well. I did get a few freeze ups, but didn't have time to find out why. Still would like to see how Ubuntu runs in oct with the new release. :)
