Hi all,
I was wondering if any of you guys could help, I am trying to set my hp pavilion up for recording my guitars etc, its a DV6355ea.
now the problem is the laptop comes with a built in mic, so defult setting is that the mic doesnt playback through the speakers, Only problem is when im trying to record I need to be able to hear what im playing through the speakers of headphones. So i need live playback from the mic input jack on the front of the pc but for the life of me cant seem to find how to get it to do so!!! I have tried everything!
Any help will be massively ....umm helpfull ha
Thanks in advance

Revised for clarity:
Open Volume Control, click on Options, make sure the Playback radio button is dotted, then in the list of Volume panels at the bottom of the screen make sure that Microphone is checked. Click OK. On the Volume Control window, set the volume of the Microphone to a moderate level, say 70% up the bar.
Then click Options again and dot the Recording radio button. Make sure the Microphone is checked on the bottom of this window. Click OK. Now on the Recording Control panel, make sure that the Microphone is selected and make sure it is at a moderate level.
Plug in your external mic and headphones, adjust previously mentioned volume sliders to personal taste for playback volume and recording clarity.
Personally, this works for me, and I tested it right before I posted this to make sure it did. I'm using Windows XP by the way, so your mileage may vary if you have a different OS.
