    Between the two, the first one has a GeForce 7400 GPU that's going to be much better for gaming than the GeForce 7150 in the second notebook even though it's a previous generation model. Ideally I'd find a retailer that carries a dv6500z series notebook with the GeForce 8400 GPU option.

    Go on HP's website and customize one. There is a coupon for 20% off until 9/12 for the dv6500 go to the student discount and rebates thread and you'll find the coupon code in the last page.

    HP doesn't offer customized notebooks outside of America.

    The dv6527 you linked to above is a dv6500z series. Finding a retail model with the 8400GS upgrade is the tricky part. If it's an AMD dv6xxx with a GeForce 7150 or 8400GS, it's a dv6500z.

    Try the drivers from the dv6000t....

    Plus you will have to either slipstream SATA rivers onto your XP disc ar disable native SATA support in the BIOS and then install XP. There are intructions on the forum. Check the installation guide stickies in the main HP/Compaq section of the forum.

    right i have xp on the laptop only things not working are

    sm bus controller PCI bus 0, device 31, function 3 (no idea what that is)

    the modem i dont really need

    and the 5-1 card reader cant get it working installed loads of drivers but says

    This device cannot start. (Code 10)
    i had it working once turned of the laptop and stated messing around coming up with that error

    so any help would be great
