Hello everyone, new member and my first post.
My HP dv6000 laptop has suddenly lost the settings for the DVD/CD drive.
It is not appearing on the system and CD burning software confirms it is not available. I have swapped it out with no improvement, my drive was put in another Hp and was recognised and the drive from the other machine was not recognised in my machine. I have tried a system restore just in case but no luck so far. Does anyone have any ideas please before the rest of my hair is on the floor...
    Regards

Forgot to mention that I upgraded from Vista to Win 7 (32bit) but I dont think this is the problem as it has been running well for a few months.
