Dialup is always slow. Check if you have adware and delete it. that will speed it up a liitle but it should still be pretty slow.

Check the settings on your firewall(s) and anti-virus as well. Those functions on the dv9500 may be checking a lot more stuff than your desktop checks, which will slow down the process, sometimes considerably.

I have installed kaspersky internet security on my laptop.
I don`t think there would be any adware in my notebook.
I have connected to the internet by this laptop only few times but always low speed.
    I have tested opera,internet explorer,firefox
but in all the times the speed is extremely slow.
even I have stoped firewall & automatice website checking but non prevailed.
when I want to download a file with ida (internet download accelarator)
    I have only 0.5 kb/sec !!!!!!!!!! but in my desktop pc I have 6 kb/sec.
nothing is being checked or scanned for virus during the download process.
now please help me how can I solve this problem??

My GOD!!!, there would be no way I could live with those speeds. You should at least get a new USB modem, the should be pulling 30ish kbs, but you might want to consider DSL, AT&T has a $10/month plan which is the same price as dial-up.
