I want to install an mSATA SSD in the miniPCI-e slot located under the hdd . I know that the mini-PCie is not compatible with mSATA but users have mixed experiences on this with some claiming to be even working on old lenovo laptops

    1. Is it compatible ? Has anyone tried this ?

    2. Is there a performance bottleneck ?

I am already using a HDD caddy with a 2.5" ssd . i want to replace my SSD with a backup drive and add an mSATA ssd

It doesnt matter if it cannot be a boot drive .
