i have a pavilion dv2000 for a year and a half, and for the past few months or so, every once in a while the screen will suddenly snow up and then the whole computer freezes and i have to restart.

the HP updater says my drivers are up to date, but is there a way to manually see if there is some sort of driver conflict?

or do you guys think this is a hardware problem...?

    thanks.

I would start with taking a look at the error logs / event logs and see if you can find the reason for the freeze. That would help you understand what the issue is / might be, and then you can think about whether it would be resolved with a driver update.
