I bought my Compaq v3000z (AMD dual processor) almost a year ago, and tried upgrading my memory initially. It was a disaster, I couldn't find a single brand/stick that didn't cause instability issues. A year later and I really want more RAM & stability.

Has anyone out there with a v3000z or HP equivalent (dv3000z?) upgraded their RAM successfully, what EXACT brand/model, etc? I don't want to play the RAM swap game over mail again, it's a major pain!

    Thanks!

Yeah, for some reason they dont seem to work with each other in dual channel mode. I borrowed a 1GB Gskill memory from a friend and paired it with 1GB crucial and it worked fine in dual channel. I didnt have time to test for stability but you could try GSkill RAM as well. A user a while back mentioned (link) that they worked for him/her.
