i've got the version with the AMD TK 55, with 800 mHz FSB.

i want to upgrade to 2x1gB memory to improve the performance

    two questions:

should I get memory with 800 mHz fsb, cas latency 6

    or

667 mHz fsb, cas latency 4?

I've tried to figure this out on my own, but it is not clear to me if the motherboard supports the faster FSB even though the cpu is rated higher, and even if the MB does, do I lose any gain through the lower cas latency figure?

You want DDR2-667 ram, as that is what the unit takes.

Yeah, although the cpu might support DDR2 800 memory the BIOS might not and unless you really dont mind testing DDR2 800 RAM, go with DDR2 667 memory. You arent losing anything since you are trading off latency for slightly higher frequency and in the real world usage performance difference will be very minimal.
