    mic not working

    i have dv9205us vista laptop with a build in mic and i cannot get the mic to work, when i go under control panel and go to sounds, and recording it give me a microphone (a pic of a regular mic) (conexant high def. audio) but it says it is not plugged in and the next thing that is on the recording tab is a waveout mix (pic of a sound card) (conexant high def. audio) it also says not plugged in anyone out there please help me

    i got the mic working i needed to update the driver/ but how do i get the built in cam to record using hp quickplay, when i select my webcam the cam turns on but when i select record the webcam turn off
