    mini pci?

    hello i have a mini pci 56k modem on my compaq presario 700 and i am wondering if i can take that out and plug in a mini pci wifi card?

    If you see antenna leads in/around the card slot, yes, and even then you'll need to find a card that's HP-approved for that particular model since they lock out unapproved cards in the BIOS. Without antennas your WiFi range is virtually nil.

    this is an older compaq so there is no antana but there is space for me to put in my own and ware can i find the aproved cards

    Get the service guide from hp.com. It will have a list of part #'s in the section that describes how to install a miniPCI card. Search eBay for that part #.
