As far as notebook computers go, I understand the mobile proccsor's will get better battery life and probably less heat. I was wondering if anyone knows how much performance difference there is between the two with the same clock speeds.

I'm pretty sure the performance is basically the same as long as the machines are plugged into AC power. The mobile processors adjust their speed when running on battery power, so raw power when running on batteries will probably be less for the mobile processors. On the other hand, the battery will power the CPU for a longer amount of time, so if you're going to be doing word processing on an airplane (and hence don't need the CPU to run at full speed anyway), the mobile processor will give you extra time to finish your work.

I thought the bus speed of a mobile is slower then the desktop, and that slows down the speed right?

It wont matter too much either unless you have RAM that can sync up with that 800mhz bus to give you the best performance.
