Hi, my dv9000t since two days no longer dysplay anything in the monitor, the monitor turns on actually (changes from black to grey) but nothings appears on it. The boot process complete without error, and no beep sound during boot up. The only way to see anything is by external monitor, but only in 640x480 4 bit color and a lot of vertical lines. I think is the video card (go 7600).
But perhaps any of you have a magical solution for me avoiding sending back my notebook to the states for repair.
Thanks!

i had a problem like this.id have the monitor turn off after a certain amount of minutes and sometime just when it would turn off i move my mouse to turn it back on and it would come up with this gray screen and id close it ect and nothing would happen.and i would only get the external screen to work.
i did post something like this ages ago and someone said it was the graphics.
so after this happen like three times i learnt not to move my mouse right after it turnd off and to wait some secs after.i havnt had this prob in awhile.but when it did happen id just reboot my pc and it woiuld work again.
of course since then i downloaded the newer graphics card drivers from the hp site. -
I had a dell Latitude D820, with the similar problem.
Since it's a company pc, the support guys from DELL came directly to my house to fix it, he changed the whole board inside the LCD monitor.
I think the bulb might go bad too.
During that time, I was either using external monitor or using remotely desktop control to access that PC.
How long have you owned this laptop? -
I just got mine back from HP for the same issue dv9500t; they replaced the GPU
monitor dont turns on
