hi, just got an HP dv6, completely love it. but one probelm, i was playing mass effect 2 and a strange problem came up. i can use the mousepad fine looking around, but when i try and move by using the keyboard then look around at the same time, its almost like the touchpad locks up and doesnt move anymore, i have to lift from the pad then put my hand down again just to look around again. as soon as i let go of the keys, the mousepad works fine again. its not just mass effect 2 either. it also happens outside of games, like if i hold down the w key, the mousepad shuts off. any help would be good, thanks

    Almost sounds like a short.

    Try it with the following:

    External keyboard and touchpad
External mouse and built in keyboard
    External mouse and external keyboard

If all of those work, then there might be a problem with your touchpad or keyboard connection.

The synaptic driver has the palm check option enabled. If it's on then you cant hold a key and move the track pad. Go into the settings and disable it.
