i noticed for the first time earlier today that after awhile of using my notebook that my mouse started to act up, it wouldnt go left or right, just up and down ajd after i left it alone for awhile it kept moving up and down by its self, so i thought it might be getting to hot or something so turned my notebook off for awhile and it worked perfect againl. so can someone help me out with this, did anyone else have the same problem?

I had a similar experience with my touchpad that it suddenly lost "click" function but other functions performed normally. It was very bothersome for me, I have to use the button to click links on web page. Though I did use my laptop for a long time, I am still not sure that it was caused by overheat. Can anyone confirm that?

i dont know if it was from over heating or not but my notebook did seem alittle warmer than usual at the time.

Heat seems like it could be the cause of the problem. Seperate question, but it says in the HP virtual manual that you can disable the the tapclick feature under Control Panel>Mouse but I looked through every tab there and can't find the option to disable. I'm not a fan of this feature and would like to disable it if I can.

When my problem occurred, I was pretty much sure the tapping feature was enabled. Anyway, it just happened once and never again.
Actually, you may see the tapping feature switch under control panel->mouse->mouse setting(the last label with a red icon) -> setting... -> Tapping -> uncheck the box "enable tapping". B4 doing this, just make sure the touchpad driver has been installed properly. Hope it helps :)

Thanks for the tip. One of the settings in this window is for touchpad sensitivity, that may help out the original poster with his problem. They mention that high humidity may warrant turning up the sensitivity.

Latest HP laptops have issues with their touchpads going berserk. Make sure you've got the latest BIOS because if I remember correctly this is how HP fixed it (or hopes to fix it).
