it's a dv9000.. 17" so i don't lug it around that much... it's usually plugged in so i don't drain the battery or anything often at all..
but i noticed earlier this week.. that when i did happen to use it while unplugged, when i plug it back in the taskbar icon shows that it is not charging back up again! right now it's at 44% and for the past few days has not changed at all.. i've restarted, etc.. is this a problem with my battery? a problem w/vista? something i can manually configure/fix?
i'm kind of a n00b. thanks in advance for any help you can give!

I had a similar problem. I just unplugged the adapter from the computer and plugged it back in, and it worked.
Try re-seating the battery. It probably won't work, but it's worth a try. -
batteries die, charging circuits die

And that's because you keep it at 100% all the time. Take the battery out of the laptop when you are using it on AC power. Batteries are designed to be used not kept charged all the time.
