    (TL-52/1GB/120GB)

I used the laptop with battery only and i was on the other room for while and when came back then laptop has shutdown (maybe run out off battery).
I plugged the AC-adapter press power button and nothing happened.

If i plug the AC-adapter the power socket led turns on.
Pressing the power button power, battery&hd light flickers 3 times & nothing else happens.

I have reseated the ram & battery.
if i remove the battery and plug AC pressing the start button the leds won't even flicker; however the sockets light is on.

The AC-adapter gives 19V(i checked), but i wont get warm at all (even if it plugged in for hours).

    What might be wrong.
What the light flickering means? is it some kind of error code.

I have used the laptop only one day(45min). The laptop work just fine yesterday(with AC-adapter).

The dv6000 i bought was used as presentation machine (std warranty included).
it was dirty(dusty) as hell ,but with standard warranty i thought why not.

Is there any further test that i can make to spot the problem or should i just send it to the hp-service?

The power connector may be damaged. If that is the case, then it will be difficult to repair, as that often invloved replacing the motherboard, which is very expensive. To get it fixed faster, I would give HP's technical support a call, and see if they could help you. Hope this helps.

Make sure you really do have the brick plugged in all the way. The LED can light up when the brick's plug is really only halfway in.

Other than that... yeah, time to call HP or return it.

the only thing that I can think of that you can try is to remove the battery and unplug it and hold down the power button for a couple of seconds to drain the circuits and just let it alone for a little while and then plug it back in and see if it helped any. Other than that, just return it to the store you bought from and tell them it's defective.

I called hp support and the fellow said the problem is likely:
the power connector, motherboard connector or cable between.

i dont't want to disassembly the whole laptop to check is the power cable properly connected so i will return it back to the store.

Try removing the batter and the AC cord and holding down the power button for about 10 secs. A guy that works in the shop across the hall from me had the same issue. Once in a blue moon something will happen like that and holding down the button with no power at all will cause all the capcitors and such to discharge inside the laptop. Not saying it will 100% work but its a shot before returning it.
