registry machanic is the best reg cleaner ive seen but theres some free reg cleaners out there, anti virus should be second nature to any computer user you should always have one avg and avast are two free anti virus programs and also a good firewall would be good too.

btw did you get a email saying it was on its way?

Surfing without anti-virus is like walking through a cage full of tigers with meat hanging around you neck - you're just begging to be attacked. The two AV programs darth mentioned are pretty good and I don't find that either one slows down my computer noticeably. As far as registry cleaners go, do your homework and check them out very well before you choose one. There are some out there that will clean your registry a little too well and you could end up with an app that will no longer run, or worse. I myself am a little nervous about leaving any registry editing in the hands of a piece of software and prefer to do any "cleaning" myself. But that's just me.

yeah zero is right there are some registry cleaning programs that dont check if there is un used registries some just simply load them and give you sugestions. stay away from those. they will put a disclaimer on them usually.
