    Hello all
I have a general question that I hope you can answer before I hang myself. LOL I am learning on a compaq evo n620c laptop. I swapped out the motherboard since the old one worked but had no video. (and would not work with a external monitor) got a board and innstalled it. Took me 3 hours of careful work and then plugged it in..nothing. Tried a new board fom HP installed it to the case and plugged it in..nothing. My question is..shouldnt the fan and LEDS work when supplied with power? Everything else worked before, including the power supply. I checked the power supply with another compaq I have and it works fine. Is there anyway I can check the board before spending hours putting it in? Also, could the DC/DC converter board be bad? It was working on the old board when I swapped it. I am running out of ideas. Thanks so much for any insight.
