I've dropped in here before, but now am asking for some specific help from anyone with an HP Compaq nc6120.

I'm trying to diagnose an audio effect that can be reproduced on a large number of laptops from various makers. I'm building a list of affected models by getting people to contact me and asking them to play a certain basic audio file from the hard drive through the internal speakers and report what they hear. The idea is to try to narrow down the cause.
The only anomaly on the results so far is that two nc6120 owners have responded with opposing results, so it would be really useful to get some more users of this machine to carry out the test.

I'm still interested in hearing from users of any recent laptop, but the nc 6120 is the 'exciting' one at the moment.

I can be contacted by personal message through the board (click on the name) and will forward more details then. This is a genuine request, and I won't misuse any info.
