I have a HP Compaq nc6400 laptop running Windows XP Pro.

Whenever I disconnect it from the AC adapter and close the lid, it should go into hibernate mode, but it rarely does. If I try to turn it on a few hours later, the battery will almost always be significantly/totally drained.

I checked the Power Options in the Control Panel, and the "System hibernates" for "Running on batteries" is set to "After 25 mins", so that looks OK.

Any idea what's wrong with it?
