Comparing an HP/Compaq nc8000 and Dell Latitude D800 for purchase. I've noticed that most reviews give the nc8000 substantially better runtime on battery than the D800 for roughly the same specs. What surprises me is that the D800 has a 9 cell battery rated at 72WHr, while the nc8000 has an 8 cell battery rated at 48WHr.
Is 48WHr, in fact, the correct capacity for the nc8000? Any thoughts as to how the nc8000 appears to get "alot" from "very little"?
Thanks,
Harvey

Well, it helps to get the units right. The D800 IS 72WHr capacity. The nc8000 spec was on amp-hours and is 4.8AHr ( or 4.4 depending on primary or multibay - according to HP). Anyway, 4.8AHr at the 14.4V system spec yields about 69WHr which is pretty close to the D800.
Comments still welcomed.

well here is the deal you can get a good 3-4 hours of heavy use (wifi, scaning for viruses and playing videos). The funnything id though that it says it dosent having anymore battery after an hours. well i ignored it and sure enough it went on for about 2-3 more hours. still does that, but i know that i add time to the meter. So it does have a fairly good bttery life considering what it has in it.
