    Hi all,

now I'm considering to replace my HDD with new one - bigger and faster,
from WD or Seagate product line, 320 GB, 7200 rpm, but I'm not confident if its good idea, because my lap is not very cold, say more - the average temp of HDD is 39-40 C.

So if anyone has such experience please share it!

Also - is it possible to take current image of my system on hdd and put it on new HDD? Which programs allows this?

    Thanks!

    >>Is that a SATA or SATA2 HDD..is there a difference between those two?

    Good question:

I have the HDD with interface SATA 1.5Gb/s.

The one which I choose has interface SATA 3Gb/s.

So now question - is it compatible with my motherboard?
As I know SATA2 HDD allows switching to SATA mode?
and I suppose I will have problems with XP installation on a new HDD because of SATA drivers not-existence in XP.

So many questions, please clarify if you can
