    nc8430 fn key problem

    my fn keys under f8, f9, f10, f11 doesn't appear to work. any suggestions? i just need it to work so that i can adjust my brightness. thanks.

    You need to make sure the HP Quick Launch program is installed. Get it here.

    Also, turn off the Ambient Light Sensor in the BIOS. It can also take control of screen brightness, and I usually turn it off since I don't care for it. While you are at it, make sure the BIOS doesn't have the option to Swap Fn & Ctrl toggled on.

    thanks but i'm entirely sure how to change settings in bios? i downloaded the software and i checked to see that ctrl+fn toggle was off.
