    nc8430 on battery

    i was testing out the battery yesterday and i tried to play a dvd, performance was sluggish and windvd kept eating up ram. it starting of at 40mb then kept increasing and i finally stopped it at 340mb, when i run on ac, this doesn't happen and it it only takes up about 50mb, any ideas?

    I just noticed this myself, funnily enough whenever it was running sluggish I used Ctrl, Alt, Delete to open the Task Manager and that seemed to sort the problem (don't know why) but only short term until a fan or something starts to run.

    your power settings are probably too low when on DC battery power...try adjusting both the GPU and CPU to some type of dynamic speed setting.

    i'm not too familar with the X1600 yet!
