    Hi all my friend has decided to take out the 2 x 512 megs which came with his nc8430 with 2 x 1 gigers for a total of 2 gigs of ram.

    Now I haven't gone ram shopping for awhile as my lappy came with 2 stock. Are either of these deals any good? Also would like to verify they are right type for compatiblity.

    Any other less expensive name brand deals out there lemme know. Hoping to find out overnight if i'm lucky so can order early tommorow. Would prefer to order from large trusted sites like newegg.com or zipzoomfly.com if possible.

    Go for the G.Skill's. Fast RAM speeds vs. Lower CAS latency. I would opt for the faster memory speeds.

    You could always look for 4GB (2x2GB) sets. They're a little bit more but best bang for the buck IMO.

    Just a note, the nc8430 does not and will not make the full 4GB RAM available as it is a 945 (Napa) notebook. You will get as much as 3.4GB at the most.
