    Hello,

I received a replacement unit for my nc8430 in mid-to-late January for a unit that HP was unable to repair after three attempts. Right before I received the replacement unit, I also received the un-repaired unit back from the repair center. I've called HP a couple of times to get return labels for the faulty unit, but they never seem to actually get shipped. Any HP employees who read this forum have any idea who to contact??? Thanks!

    Regards, ...

I think he has both the broken one and the good one. I say just keep them both

Sorry I didn't make it clear -- i have both of them. I can see why you say "keep them both", but I wouldn't want to do that without something in writing from HP. I can see 10 years down the road getting a bill for $1800 for the non-returned laptop along with $10000 in interest payments or something to that effect.

I'm in the middle of returning a defective nc8430 myself.

Everything they've sent me says very specifically that I'll be charged for all hardware not returned within 30 days.

You should definitly keep pestering customer service about it.

For what it's worth, they were not too co-operative in even letting me send mine in for replacement; they wanted to try and repair it again. Two new motherboards have just left this thing back where it was in the first place; I insisted on an all-new unit. We'll see how they pull through (hopefully with some hardware upgrades thrown in too).
