people who have used both nc8430 and smaller laptop, how portable is nc8430's size compared to 14" and 13" laptops?

I just got a nc8430 two weeks ago. My previous unit was a nc6400 and before that a T60. So far, I am very happy with the nc8430. I do not mind the larger form factor and additional weight. After the first couple of days, I didn't really even feel the difference in weight. The increase in resolution and screen size for me, was well worth the difference.

I've got it too, and my last laptop was the 14" M140/630m. I'd actually have to say that it is only a tad heavier then 14" notebooks, but you do get the larger screen and more powerful GPU, not to mention it's pretty darn thin. I've measured my laptop to be about 6.08lbs.

if you are tall 1.60m and weight around 60 kilos, then o wouldn't recommend taking one, in other case it is **** light and small

I have the nc8430 and my other laptop is a dell 1710 and by far the nc8430 is much more portable and lighter.

My only other experience with a laptop is my Dell XPS (~9lbs with ~2hr battery life on a 16cell battery and a 150W power supply). Compared to that the nc8430 is a dream! As far as I can tell it's one of the smaller 15.4" notebooks (my case logic sleeve for 15.4" widescreens is actually a little too loose for comfort) and I've had no problems fitting it into my backpack. I also believe that, including power supply, it's one of the lighter 15.4" notebooks out there.
