    nc8510p v. nc8430

    I just upgraded my nc8510p to 4 gig ram. I did the same with the nc8430. I look at the available memory on the 8510p and it says I have 3.o GIG and my 8430 shows 3.3 GIG. Why is there a difference? I ran the MEM test in the bios and it all checked out. Thoughts?

    I think it's because they have different GPU's, the 2600 uses more system RAM than the X1600. Not sure though.

    Are you going to get 64 bit Windows for them now that you've got 4 GB RAM?

    Thanks for the information. I have no plans to upgrade right now to 64bit. Eventually I will at some point, just not right now.
