can someone list all the things that are definitely required in the Swsetup folder. I installed mostly everything, but I still have one device that is marked as Unknown and it cant find the driver for it. I think I'm just overlooking something that I think is probably bloatware.

The one unknown device is likely the Quickplay hardware buttons beside the power button (DeviceID *HPQ006 or similar under the Details tab).

If you install the Quickplay software and Quickplay drivers, it will disappear.

As for the SWSetup folder, personally I don't install anything from there since I already own equal or better software that I prefer to install. I do a clean install of Vista, then Windows Updates takes care of all the hardware drivers, except the Quickplay buttons, then I install my selection of programs.

That's the device name of the motherboard chipset, and the Quickplay buttons are part of the motherboard chipset. The actual hardware ID is listed under the Details tab of the device properties.

Check it later and you'll likely find it's the Quickplay buttons.

thankyou... Now that im looking at the list, I think I installed the QPY or whatever it was and not the one with the W in it. I know that the buttons work, but they arent audible and dont seem fully functional. Once again, thanks for the help.
