    Hi All

I just got my laptop back in early December. Already it seems like i need a new battery. I must get about 1 and 20 minutes of battery time , now that is with the screen turned down low i'm using 40% of the screen brightness. Is there a third party i can buy a higher capacity battery?

You can get a 12cell battery from HP, should give you twice the battery time except it is bigger.

Cheap Third Party/Aftermarket batterys are not to be trusted nor recommended as they are not really tested and have a chance of exploding

I would also recommend getting a 12 cell, I just bought for my dv6000t and I wish I would have gotten it instead of the 6 cell when I bought the computer over a year ago.

But now that I look at you sig; I see you have a dv9000t and I don't believe they sell anything larger than the 8 cell. There is however a High Capacity 8 cell. They don't sell it in the regular store but it is available in their parts store, its part number is: 434674-001

And i would not recommend a Third Part battery the risk of damage to your computer isn't worth the savings.

Also since your still under warranty I call HP, maybe they will replace it if its showing signs of abnormal wear. They might not however since normal wear and tear isn't covered under the warranty, but it doesn't hurt to ask especially since you could be saving a hundred dollars plus.

my dv9000 8 cell battery lasts up 3:15 with power saver on, and wireless off. using word. I got my notebook in mid december.

I would run the hp battery check (start, help and support, troubleshooting tools, hp battery check.) If it fails give em a call and get a new battery. Could be that a few cells are dead.
