    yet one of the reasons why i will not use it for at least another year or so, when more of the bugs have been worked out.

    Vista is extremely demanding hardware-wise. Considering that it manages to use about 500MB of RAM idling, it's no surprise that it won't run nearly as well as XP. That said, there have been some issues with things like clock speed management in mobile processors, so I'd try finding any updates you can for your hardware, as well as possibly investing in more RAM (which seems to be a major help with Vista performance).

    Could you tell us WHY it is that bad? Maybe we can help you...I'm having no problems with Home Premium...well, only one or two minor problems.
