Well does your quickplay work?....Can you access DVD's and music? Actually you should read what quickplay is. I found this for you, so you know what your dealing with. I think you need to understand what it is your fixing..in order to fix it.

Man, you are in 'garam garam pani, yaar'. You reinstall Windows by not reformatting the partition for Quickplay. I didn't want to mess with all of that and just uninstalled the junk.

Quickplay is overrated, anyway. I find that watching the movie while working on the internet and typing on Word works better than tying up a $1500 machine to watch movies. You can get a DVD player for $35 now, for that stuff.

Just call technical support and help you bail out of the deep hole that you just dug for yourself.[} :)]

Oh, you implayaz9 and you titaniummd are both Indian? Wow!

titaniummd is right, QuickPlay is not really that great. Do you really have to save like 20 seconds of your time in not booting up Windows just to play a DVD or listen to some MP3's?

I'd wait to boot into XP, watch a movie or play some music and then quit to do some other work. And maybe you can get a dvd player for $35, but not a portable one.

Quickplay is just a marketing gimmick. It doesn't take more than 20 seconds to boot a Laptop if you don't have to feed a password. It does not increase battery life and you will drain it by watching a movie. You can watch DVD on any computer. Why not have dvd player as a travel companion instead.

I used to know Hindi, but forgot it and learned English when I came here. I perfer the bigger, higher resolution screen of a DV1000 for DVD movie watching. My only DVD player is my Playstation 2, so when I do buy a DV1000 soon, that will be my only portable DVD player.

Are you sure QuickPlay doesn't increase battery life lapboy? I really thought it would.......

    Nahi, Rahul,

Hindustani, nahi hu. Mera Bibi, Desi hai. I have been trying to learn Hindi (just went to India in November for Diwali).

Quickplay would have more weight if I didn't own 3 DVD players at home. It would be nice on an airplane (esp to India for 18+Hours) but I don't need a PC for anything else when I travel. I use a 7inch widescreen portable player for that.

well batery life won't increase significantly. It has to run the DVD drive without running the HD.

At home, buy a 35$ DVD player and see it on your 'high resolution' TV[ :p]

Why lug around 1500$ laptop to watch DVD on plane and risk damage/scratch/knocks at the airport security [?]

    Watch and surf/work simutaneously[ :D],

You want to have your cake and eat it,its not my problem, but it would be less risky and cost effective to travel with 160$ portable DVD player[ :D]

Just my 2 cents worth[ :p]
