    Friend has a hp pavillion entertainment pc. With the swivel touchscreen when we try to reinstall Windows we get the error that some of the files may be missing. This has happened with xp and 7. Tried x86 and 64. And a new HDD. Please help.

    Memory, motherboard, dvd-drive... All those things could cause such an error.
    What model is it, TX1000 or TX2000 -series? Those had that nasty nVidia chip defect that could also cause problems as this.

    This is typical of standalone install of windows and since there is lacking support info on what kinda laptop model and make giving help is even harder to know what your talking about. So where going to need more info aka model and make???? That has to provide when asking for help so others whom have similar system can tell you want drivers your missing as well as what O/S version your using.
