    i have a hp pavillion dv 7 and it has a broken screen i've been using it with a monitor but today i got a blue screen then on restart a black screen with the cursor. and i cant try anything to fix it. because i cant see the boot i've heard theres a way to change over the monitor on boot too in bios but i cant get in bios as its on boot. so i was hoping for some kind of help pictures instructions something. anything is appreciated.

    Read this "as your pathetic Willy" I was offended at first.

    Maybe try unplugging the screen ribbon and booting with a HDMI monitor?

    problem there is i dont have an hdmi monitor. and well i've never unhooked a notebook screen dont really know how

    and sorry wasnt being offensive. i just feel kinda really screwed. this computeri'm on i cant really get on often one of the positives of having my own.

    Lol I was jk about the being offended part.

    It requires a bit of a tear down, but it's just screws and clips nothing to be scared of. If you google something like "dv7-6000 screen replacement" you should be able to find a video that will walk you along as if you were going to replace the screen, just stop at the part where he un plugs the ribbon. After you un plug the ribbon plug the hdmi in and boot with it semi torn down, if it works re assemble with the ribbon unplugged.

    do you know if it will the boot picking up off the external monitor. i may be able to get a coord and use my tv but the one i have is a crt i think. its a blue cord not hdmi or asci would it naturally boot it if it ws hdmi or white asci

    and in the f8 at boot is it possible for it to skip the log on part i cant see it so dont really know if it is or not
