need help choosing a laptop

hey guys jst checking if anyone could help me pick a laptop. I am just looking for a decent not too expensive laptop for school work and internet. Also for basic gaming such as nhl2005 or something along those lines. I am also planning on watching movies on the dvd. I got these laptops in mind,

on sale for 899 but planning on upgrading the ram to 512. Do you know how many ram slots does this laptop have? because I would prefer just buying a 256 and adding to it.

on sale for 1099 i dont see a much difference from the above one to this other than the ram so wondering if this price is worth it.

its on sale for 1400. this seems to be a good one but then i am not sure if its worth for the price comparing to the other choices I have mentioned. plus i dont really want to spend 1400 on a laptop now since i am for sure to upgrade or get a new one in like 2-3 year period.
