i've got an envy 17 with the optiarc BC-5600S blu-ray drive, i want to know how to go about getting the latest firmware files for this drive ?

i want to remove riplock to enhance read speeds, and MCSE requires the firmware file so that i can disable riplock on it then flash the drive.

i searched on google and found an hp download for the drive 1H09, but there are no files in this package that i can use in MCSE.

can i use Sony's 1.03 firmware on this drive or should i avoid ? the firmware version reported by siw is 2.84.

it will not install if i try running the executable. the popup mentions the drive name does not match.

i tried extracting the contents of the firmware file to see if MCSE will recognize any of the files in the installer, but no luck.
