I got my new dv6500 just the other day. I honestly love it and its working pretty well so far. However, in the front left, part of the plastic must be slightly off since when I press it, it clicks in and then out. Its not major but the other side doesnt. Also silver plastic around the keyboard where it meets the other plastic part around speakers is slightly uneven compared to one side. Should I care or let it go? I know nothing is perfect but I guess since its brand new, I feel it should be. So what would you guys do?

What do you guys think I should do? Its not major issues but it seems like plastic isnt 100% perfect. Thats why one area slightly uneven and other part clicks. Would HP or costco exchange it? However I probably would have to send it away first and wait for new one. That would be a pain. Or could I keep this while waiting for the new one.

I have a dv6500 and I have no problems with it. You should call HP and let them know so you can see what they will do for you

I say let it go unless the clicking really bothers you, but the clicking might stop over time just from the plastic wearing in. Regarding the unevenness of the speaker plastic, mine is slightly uneven also - it's probably a common issue that most people don't mention because they don't notice. Every one of the five laptops I've used (3 Macs, Compaq, Asus) has had slight issues like these because none are made perfect.

I say let it go, I have dv9500, i also have the same problem with the left click. I don't want waste a long time to sent it back, just thinking about all the trouble. Plus they may get something screwed up during the repair process or when they shipped back.

I just bought my HP 6500 special edition.. it looked fine.. and worked fine. Until..
It blue screened on me completely randomly. I was taken aback. I restarted it and it worked fine I watched a movie just see how it goes, worked fine. Then I realized that the left headphone jack doesn't seem to work, I was trying to check the sound settings when it blue screened on me again. Obviously the error checker or whatever they have didnt find any solutions for my problems.

what should i do guys should i return it?

    first day
    - blue screened on me twice
    - slightly loose battery (12 cell)
    - left sound jack doesn't work :(

the right side of my 6500 is a little higher than the left side. when i press on the windows and centrino stickers it wobbles. i only notice it if i want to though. i dont hear any clicking though. i might just add a little rubber to one side so that it doesnt wobble when i press it.
