when i bought my dv4t back in august/september i didn't get the option of having the 12 cell battery or the extra hard drive in the optical drive bay. is there any way to buy these separately now or are they coming soon?

you should be able to buy the drive bay adapter from HP (and install your own HDD).

you should be able to buy the battery already call HP and ask. (there website might not have been updated yet).

if you dig around this forum, someone posted a link for a dv7t drive chasis. you can probably find one for the 4t on that site too. just look for it. there was a thread recently (within the last 10 or 20 pages) called dv7t 2nd drive or something like that. the link is there.

I swear I'm not going crazy!!! Just a few days back, I found the 12-cell Battery for the dv4t and dv5t for a friend of mine. He has a dv5t with the standard 6-cell and wants the 12-cell. I found it on the HP site by choosing 'Accessories' from the 'Notebooks' drop-down menu.

I just tried to find it again and it's NOT there! I know for a fact that it was available and certainly should be available for you to purchase (in the near future, if not sooner)! Call HP at 1 (888) 999-4747 and they may be able to give you additional information. In the past, HP has usually offered the 12-cell batteries for most models (unlike High Capacity 6-cell batteries, which are NOT sold separately from new notebooks).

    Good luck!
