    F.03 refers to the dv4000 with the x700 graphics card - 2nd gen.

    what happens if I installed it in dv4000 with intel GMA? will it increase the performance?

    It probably wont even flash the BIOS. The product numbers might be different which the BIOS installation software identifies and stops.

    Even if works or you force it to work the laptop wont probably boot and you'll have to send it in to HP to reset the BIOS.

    If you are not having any problems with your BIOS, then I don't see any reason to update it. If it ain't broke, don' fix it.

    Yeah, I got the older DV4000 also and I wouldn't take the chance at all. If you screw up the BIOS, you'll probably have to send it to HP to repair. not worth it.
