Im builing a new dv2500t on the APP site, and the memory options are 1gb std, 2gb for an additional $125...if the memory is just the ddr2 667, then arent we better off getting a $70 deal from Corsair? Im just confused if there will be new memory for santa rosa computers that have the 800 fsb

Yes, HP usually takes a few months to bump the memory to the fastest speeds capable. The same thing happened with the release of the 667MHz FSB cpus, they offered 533Mhz memory for quite a while before finally upgrading it to 667MHz. So, dont expect to see DDR2 800 modules for a while.

you think it's a good idea to order a set of 2gb right now and order a 2500 in about 2 weeks???

Well, the performance difference between a DDR2 800 and DDR2 667 is not yet known but I dont expect to see whole lot of difference considering there was little or no difference between DDR2 533 and DDR2 667. So the PC2 5300 memory shouldnt be a problem, although buying the least from HP and installing after market RAM is going to be cheaper(newegg has some 1GB DDR2 667 sticks for around $45 - $50).

does that create any type of bottleneck in having a 800fsb? im just wondering if its a waste to jump all over the new santarosa platform laptops, but not have it outfitted to the optimum
