    hey guys just got my laptop today and it isnt as fast as i thought it would be....is it because of all the bloatware they put on it???

    could you please define what you consider "fast as i thought it would be". is there an app or game that is not running up to snuff?

    Yeah its the bloatware they put it. It makes the system run very sluggish and unresponsive.

    Clean install of Vista will fix this. See the sticky on how to do a clean install.

    not when running games...when i turn it on it takes a while for everything to load up (sidebar) --that takes a while

    Yes that is the bloatware using up system resources as startup.

    what about if i went into to "msconfig" and at startup i unclicked all the boxes that used at start up......if that makes any sense

    Sure try it, its one way of speeding up your startup.

    Make sure you dont disable anything you use.

    Have you gone through the tweak guide? You can find it in the OS section of the forums, here is a link

    When I got my dv9500 I did a format and then dual booted my laptop (xp pro and vista home premium) and I have had zero problems since. HP must get some big bucks to put all that garbage on new pc's. I hope the tweak guide helps ya and if not try a clean install if you have the time.
