This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     new dv5t owner: sound and WMP problems if left on too long

    Hi. Thanks to this site, I'm a proud owner of a dv5t.

    However, if I leave my computer on for awhile (several hours for a bt dl)and come back to it, the sound does not work. I have not muted it, nor have headphones plugged in. Also, WMP doesn't work under the same situation. I'll click play and nothing happens...its not even coming up in the task manager.

    Both of these are resolved if I restart. Any solutions? Thanks.

    Try installing updated sound drivers

    Thanks. I just did that; only time will tell if it worked. How about the WMP problem?
