    new hp laptop

    i was just at office depot and noticed that hp has changed all the software on the new laptops that sucks i just got mine in nov and in dec they changed can any one that just got a new hp tell me if hp total care advisor is installed on the new ones or list what comes on the new ones thanks :)

    Why would you want that software? Most people here do a clean install right after they get their computer. It's called "bloatware" for a reason.

    ya i know but with the amount of ram i have my laptops not bogged down ive disabled all the bloat ware

    just asked if it was installed on any new laptop i saw 2 and it wasnt and you cant download it from hp it comes preinstalled

    ya but hp advisor is not able to be down loaded from hp those are just patchs and updates thats not model any ways dv6500z

    Model number doesn't matter. The software works on all HP laptops. If you want HP Total Care, one of our forum members posted it a long time ago here:

    i was asking if it was still being installed on new pcs after nov because i noticed all the software has changed found out from a tech its gone for good because people were hacking in computers with it

    There was a security breach in the software, allowing hackers to gain access to the computer of the person using this software.

    which is probably why HP dropped the software altogether, though HP did release a security patch, I don't think it helped.
