hey guys, i am in the market to purchase a laptop. i really like the hp ones. i am torn on the 14 inch or the 17inch. i called best buy to see if they had the 17 in stock and they said they didnt.

when i asked why, he said, they could be possibly be coming out with some newer models.

do you guys know anything about this?

cause i can easily wait but i do want one now.

    thanks

New models just came out, we're not aware of anything else on their immediate roadmap.

The dv5000 and the v5000 are new. Not sure of the others.

The new core duo/Turion based models - dv8000T/Z, dv5000T/Z and among their business class, they have the 17" Core Duo based nx9420 and the 15" nx6310 and nc 6320.

I would not expect any new models until May 9th, when the Turion X2 is (unofficially) supposed to launch, and even then HP's plans for it are unknown.

I wouldn't be surprised if Best Buy gets new configurations of the existing V2000/dv5000/dv8000 series though. More RAM, faster CPU, or some such thing. That happens a lot. They've been having a very difficult time keeping up with demand for the HP Turion models from the looks of it. I'm glad I bought my dv8125nr on sale from BB when I did, they're pretty much gone now.
