iTunes never skipped on my dv5000. It always played great. iTunes and Quicktime were probably the only things that I didn't have issues with on the system!

iTunes never once skipped on my dv5030us (the only positive thing I can say about the system).

Nor did it skip on the PC I had built myself.

Everyone else I know with Windows had no problems either. The few people I have seen that had issues have HP systems (convenient), or their Windows installation was so messed up that they needed to reinstall. I would attribute any "skipping" problems to either bad hardware (the intergrated sound in HP systems is quite possibly the worst I've ever heard) or your Windows installation not being up to the task. On my dv5030us the Windows installation was always fresh thanks to the unstable motherboard causing me to reinstall constantly and I was using an Audigy 2 ZS Notebook soundcard. The Audigy 2 doesn't sound anywhere near as good as the headphone out of my 80GB iPod or MacBook, but it was a huge leap up from my dv5030us intergrated sound.

I agree. I had skipping on multiple machines with a variety of hardware (which makes me seriously doubt it was a hardware problem...) Anyway, the new version does seem to have corrected the issue.
