I am just about to order a fully loaded dv6500t notebook, but I was wondering if anyone knows if HP is going to add new options to the dv6500t in the next few weeks. (Better screen, better gpu, better cpu, etc.) Here are my current specs for the dv6500t I want to purchase:

    HP dv6500t
    Windows Vista Home Premium
    Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo T7300 (2.0GHz/4MB L2Cache)
    15.4" WXGA BrightView Widescreen (1280x800)
    2GB DDR2 (2 Dimm)
    383MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS
HP Imprint (Radiance) + Fingerprint Reader +Webcam
    Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 4965AGN Network w/Bluetooth
    160GB 5400RPM
    FREE Upgrade - LightScribe DVD+/-RW w/Double Layer
HP Expresscard TV Tuner for Windows Vista Notebooks
High Capacity 6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery

    *other suggestions welcome
    *Budget: $1600

I seriously doubt that they will, sadly, the only thing that I consider as a big minus is the lack of m8600gt option.

I don't think they'll let the consumers know

but the LED Backlight Option is the one I look forward to and hopefully they can get a GeForce 8400 GT if not higher as another added option..

If you're spending close to $1600-$1700 you should really consider the macbook pro which can run vista and much better hardware include LED screen, 8600GT video, thinner, etc. I think with educational discount you can get it for like $1800 + free ipod?
