    no sound after reformat and fresh install of xp pro

    i reformatted and installed a xp pro. i got all the necessary drivers off the HP.com website but i cant find the one for the audio device. under hardware i have listed

    audio codecs
    legacy audio drivers
    legacy video capture devices
    media control devices
    video codecs

    i have a HP zv5380us and windows xp pro. could someone also link me to the hp zv / compaq r5000 or something specific forum. thanks

    The sound drivers are included in the recovery CD labled "Application & Driver Recovery DVD"...The sound drivers are only present there AFAIK.

    Don't forget to also run a windows update, to collect all the necessary updates, drivers and otherwise!
