    no sound from headphone jack

    I have a dv6129 and still have xp media center, the today i plug in my headphones and sound comes out the internal speakers but not the headphones. I tried my external speakers and they dont work either. Does anyone know how to fix this? thanks in advance for any help.

    do you have another set of headphones so you can check to see if it something with them or it is the laptop.

    If it is the laptop I do not thing there are any settings to cause it to not automatically reroute sound to anything plugged into the jack.

    And, just to be sure here...you are actually plugging it into the phones jack right? Not the mic jack by accident right?

    Yeah i tried other headphones, external speakers, both jacks and nothing. Any other suggestions?

    I have diferent problem...

    When i plugged my Headphones sound comes in them. But now i cant hear sound on speakers more.

    I hear "bip" from QP buttons but not any other sound. No music, no windows sounds, no games sounds...

    Just in headphones i can hear something.
